Who's who?  There are quite a few individuals featured in The Three Uncles.  It might help to view a basic family tree in pdf format.

Mudge Memoirs [microform] : being a record of Zachariah Mudge, and some members of his family, together with a genealogical list of the same : compiled from family papers & other sources, illustrated with portraits (1883) is available for free download.

The Australian War Memorial Museum holds a transcript of the diary of Lieutenant Stewart Keith-Jopp who served with No. 1 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps (RFC) during the First World War.

Update: There were three Lts Cole in No. 1 Squadron in late 1916 and early 1917.  It appears that they may be a discrepancy in the Royal Flying Corps Communiques where pilot names have been incorrectly transposed.  For example, attached is a pdf file with a comparison from 01 May 1917 between the Royal Flying Corps Communiques and No. 1 Squadron combat report.  The combat report is fascinating reading. The R.F.C. Communiques were edited by the highly respected aviation specialist author Chaz Bowyer but I am unable to ask him for clarification as he sadly passed away in 2008.

More photos: There are many photos that could not be included in the book.  Some of them are on the Pinterest board below.
